We hope it will take root and grow into an opportunity for those interested in the fibre arts to build on what they know as well as explore something new.
The first annual Cowichan Hand to Hand Fibre Arts Workshops Weekend will be held on 21-22 April at the Cowichan Exhibition Park just north of Duncan on Vancouver Island. Inspired by the Annemor Sundbø quote “… and pass the thread from hand to hand …” (Invisible threads in Knitting, 2007), we’re offering 10 half-day workshops for a variety of fibre-related topics: spinning, felting, weaving, crochet, basketry, needlepoint lace and kumihimo. Some of the sessions are suitable for beginners, others require some previous experience.
General information about the Workshops Weekend and the registration form with detailed information about each workshop can be downloaded as PDFs from the links below. To ensure the best experience for both students and instructors, class sizes are limited. Please register early, the deadline is April 6.

We hope to post more information here on the blog about the individual courses and the techniques they’ll be covering, too.
Come and have fun learning new fibre arts skills this April in the heart of the Cowichan Valley!
The Cowichan Exhibition Park is 5km north of Duncan on the Trans-Canada Highway.
You’ll need to bring a packed lunch, water bottle and whatever you need to make yourself hot drink if you want one; there is a microwave and kettle in each classroom.
